Description Description

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to weekend next to a vineyard?!  Treat yourself to a stay at Lolly’s Cottage, and allow yourself to be consumed by nature in all forms.

Located on a quiet dead end road, you’ll travel through Caywood Vineyards and roads mimicking those of the Finger Lakes National Forest.  Whether you’re coming in the summer when both vines and trees alike are in covered in shades of green, or you’re visiting in the fall and warm autumn shades boast from all angles, this cozy cottage will remind you of a trip back in time.

Park your car and leave all your worldly connections behind for a few days.  Walk down the man made stair path (31 steps) until you see Lolly’s Cottage in view.  Rustically charming and vintage this will become a welcomed quiet retreat from busy everyday life.

For the nature lover, trees surround the cottage and offer immense privacy.  Keep your eye out for birds such as eagles, herons, ducks and more!  Friendly squirrels and chipmunks may also pop in and out to say “hi!”

Inside, the original structure of the home awaits you.  The kitchen offers a beautifully built breakfast bar, stove top and farmhouse style sink.  A grill located just outside the kitchen door is yours to use as well!

All efforts to maintain the original craftsmanship of this home have been made.  An open living and dining area boast the original windows, wood walls and flooring.  The walls have been white washed to provide a crisp feel to this old gem.  A barn door with old fashion wood latch lock leads to the lakeside deck.  Whether you’re enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning, or watching the sun set at night, this cozy space is filled with the sounds of nature around you and a beautiful view of Seneca Lake.

Completing the main level of Lolly’s Cottage, a bathroom with claw foot tub and newly added shower head offer a full bath for your group.

Traveling upstairs, the original wood stairs have been painted a cool shade of grey to blend the main floor and upper level sleeping area.  The bedrooms were kept in their original form and are what is considered a “transitional bedroom” with no attached ceiling.  Private walls surround each bedroom, but the ceiling offers a loft like, open feel with ceiling fans shared between the three rooms.  Each bedroom offers a stunning view of Seneca Lake through the original tilt windows.

The lakefront offers a spectacular 114’ of natural Finger Lakes waterfront.  Spend the day kayaking the shores of Seneca Lake or sunbathing on the large permanent dock.  Peaceful, tranquil and nature friendly; this rustic home is the perfect for those looking to enjoy nature and don't mind giving up a few creature comforts.

One suggestion
One suggestion I have is to add a table on the porch. We loved everything but wanted to eat breakfast on the porch. Thank you.

Had an absolutely wonderful 5 days at this cottage. The porch is an ideal place to enjoy a sunset with a glass of wine. Incredibly peaceful and relaxing. Lots of privacy since the cottage is nestled in a hollow part of the hill that leads down to the shore. Cottage was well stocked with everything you and your family would need. Plenty of room in the cottage too. No TV, but that was fine with me. Great place for swimming and kayaking. The access road to it goes directly thru a working vineyard (Caywood Vineyards) and that was pretty cool. Definitely 5 stars.

I really enjoyed my week long hiatus at this cottage with my family. We had such pleasant sleep, listening to the lake most nights, and the first 2 mornings it was a thunderstorm and the rain sounded so satisfying hitting the tin roof and deck top outside of the window. The bedding was all comfortable, I was impressed how comforting the pillow was. It was delightful peering out the bedroom window and feeling the breeze. The overhead and additional fans were very useful at keeping the place cool. At times we had to close all the windows to lock out the heat and retain the cool and lever times we had to lock out the cool at night, the heater in the common space was very effective at warming up all of downstairs area. I really enjoyed the music played by local stations on the radio. Also had fun with some of the games provided in the hutch. We spent so much of our time looking out at the lake, enjoying the view and the changes of the lake and skyshow from day to day. Some days the lakeshore was bombarded with relentless whitetop waves and other days the lake was so still and quiet it was eerie. The sunsets were a highlight daily and it was a great to observe the stars from the dock at night. It was a powerful perspective of the lake and sky. We were fortunate to occupy the property during Independence day and there were fireworks to be seen from across the lake which was entertaining. The property itself was more beautiful than I expected, with the wild flowers and foliage, berry bushes and smooth rocky beach. One of the nicest rocky beaches I've ever walked on. The tall grass along the lakes bottom was more than I expected but it didn't stop us from enjoying the water and the kayaks provided in the shed. We kayaked to Cayman Point and had a pleasant time swimming off the shore where there was no tall grass in the water to grab your leg. Back at the cottage, the kitchen was spacious and clean, and had all but a couple of items we needed. My family and I didn't want to leave this property, so I do look forward to returning and visiting more of the local attractions and wineries.

Peaceful
The cottage was rustic but clean with some very cool old features. Driving through the vineyard was gorgeous but the rest of the driveway was a little sketchy. The steps down to the house were ok for us but I wouldn't want to see my parents do them. When you open the doors to the deck its just amazing. The view of the dock and lake were so beautiful! We watched a storm from the deck and it was perfect!

Love Lolly’s Cottage.  Great spot to escape from the world.  Borders on the Finger Lakes National Forest.  Saw Eagles every day.

Loved this little cottage

Such a nice stay - I was a little apprehensive with some of the older reviews but the property managers really thought of everything, even additional fans for each sleeping space and gourmet coffee. Super clean everywhere. Great location right behind Caywood Winery. I'm not a fan of air conditioning so I loved the many screened windows and fresh air - it was a bit hot going to bed but the temps cooled off quickly and were in the 50s. Hearing the water lapping the shore was lovely. The dock was amazing and I appreciated the kayaks - actually tried paddling for the first time while here. Kids/teens would love it. It was a steep hike to get to and from the cottage from the parking spots and those with any mobility issues would have extreme difficulty. The switchback right before the property is intimidating but my brother managed it with his Silverado and my little truck was fine.

Such a cute place. The dock was amazing and I loved that watercraft was available for our use. Very comfy inside and extremely clean. Great location literally behind Caywood Winery. A bit difficult to get from the parking to the property due to the steep decline - need to have good knees and mobility to get down, esp carrying anything. I would stay again!

Corporate Promos

Location was as anticipated. Stairs to property had supporting rebar protruding above stair line - potential for serious injury. 2 rolls of toilet paper for 4 women over 40?? Way to much corporate reminder stuff in the house; far more than any hotel! 7 pieces in the kitchen, 4 in the bathroom, a book and 2 other pieces in the living room and cards in all bedrooms. Much to much. Otherwise, view was awesome, deck and dock lovely. Word to future renters - bring EVERYTHING from salt and sugar to coffee and tea and especially Toilet Paper!!!

While the address shows up when entering in GPS, recommend providing a little more detail about the road leading to the cottage. If not familiar with the area, feels like you are driving down the wrong road as you immediately turn off the main road and into a vineyard.  Otherwise had a fantastic stay!

relaxing, quiet, great location on the lake

We loved our stay. The property is in the woods behind a vineyard with your own private dock. Beautiful views, lots of things to do (kayaks, swimming if you are so inclined, exploring wine country, hiking). The house is clean with a rustic appeal, tons of natural light, nice kitchen and basic amenities. We plan on returning. Our only issue was that we had a bee and wasp problem which was likely a seasonal thing. Somehow they were finding their way into the house. Finger Lakes Premier Properties was very responsive, calling us daily to keep tabs on the situation.

Lolly

This cottage is very rustic. Not a place for someone who can’t walk stairs. The bathtub was extremely small and very hard to get in and out of. There was no television. There were things to do in the water in the shed by the lake. There is no ladder on the dock but its not very deep so you can walk back to shore. The beds are very comfortable and the porch was a great place to watch the sunset.

Ideal Finger Lakes Stay!

Lolly's Cottage was rustic and beautiful. Was absolutely perfect for our memorial day weekend getaway. It was unseasonably chilly while we were there but there were multiple heaters available for each room. Sunsets were gorgeous and morning coffee out on the private dock was incredibly serene. We rolled into Caywood vineyards (which is literally up the road from the cottage) an hour before check in and had an incredible wine tasting and a glass of champagne. Beds were comfortable, and the cottage was just very lovely overall. Important to note there isn't a stove, just an electric range (and grill outside). Also a bit of a windy dirt road to get down to the cottage itself. We also brought our own water for cooking / drinking but used the water there for dishes, showering etc. Just a personal taste thing, the woman from Finger Lake's rental informed me the water was potable. If you and your party know what you're in for, I think it's one of the best places to stay in the finger lakes. Very much plan on going back.

July 2019 Stay

Staying at Lolly's Cottage was wonderful. The cottage is beautifully appointed and has the most stunning view from the large front covered porch to the amazing private beach and dock. The cottage has no insulation nor A/C so it is very rustic in that sense and we were grateful for the ceiling fans. It is a single lane dirt road with some tight switch backs to the property, we had no problem in our mid size SUV. Do not drive past the parking area and the path with stairs down to the house is to the left. The bedrooms upstairs are cute and separated by privacy walls and doors but note that the walls do not go all the way to the ceiling. This is great for airflow but not privacy. We were there for a girls weekend so this was not an issue for us. There are kayaks and floats to use and beach chairs. There is no oven, but you have a nice grill to use and stove top. Great location close to many wineries. We could have easily just stayed at the cottage enjoying the lake and sitting on the porch at night. Just beautiful, I would absolutely stay here again. Finger Lakes Premier Properties was a please to work with.
