Buttermilk Falls State Park
Aside from having some of the most beautiful waterfalls in the region, Buttermilk Falls State Park is home to a popular swimming hole that?s beloved by locals and visitors alike. There?s a natural pool at the base of the falls which creates a wonderful swimming hole for guests to enjoy. While the park is open year-round, the beach is only available during the summer season when the conditions are good. We suggest that you check with the park before you visit to make sure! The swimming season typically runs from late June to early September, on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. The hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Seneca Lake State Park
This addition to our list is probably the most family-friendly option. Seneca Lake State Park includes waterfront walking trails, Sprayground (a splash playground for the little ones), as well as a great beach. As with the previous park, the beach (as well as the Sprayground) is open during the summer season, weather permitting. Canoe and kayak rentals are available from April 1st to the last day of November.
Keuka Lake State Park
Keuka Lake State Park is a 621-acre stretch of land that features stunning tree-shaded trails and a pristine beach. Like the previous entrants, the beach is available seasonally, although the park is open year-round. Typically, the swimming season is from late June to early September, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. in good weather.
